Embracing Death

My Most Important Video

We live in a death phobic culture. Through my experience of having many friends die young, my own close brush with death with stage 4 cancer, being a Hospice volunteer and death doula, I have come to understand that in order to truly live, it is important to face the prominent fear of death.

After all, we are all going to die, so we might as well face the fear of it, yes?

This video is a commemoration for my two dear friends who died recently, Dawn Higgins Andrews and Danny Hashimoto. Both of them were near and dear to my heart. Their deaths pushed me to finally make this video that's been in incubation status for the past year. I dedicate the video to their courageous, loving & bright spirits. They are missed. β™₯️

I hope this video brings awareness and courage to face this daunting topic. Thank you for watching!

On a vulnerable note, I knew my beloved mother was going to die around the time I made this video. Part of the reason that I made this video was to help ease some of the fears she had around her impending death. She did watch it two weeks before she died. I hope in some way it eased the process for her.
