Kaua'i Magazine Mermaid feature!

I’m featured in Kaua’i Magazine for my mermaid/ocean conservation work!

Holy moly, I’ve been featured for my mermaid & ocean conservation work in an extensive, deep dive interview in the Kauai Magazine!

It is a TWELVE page section with six gorgeous photos of me, where I share some pretty vulnerable pieces about my journey healing stage 4 cancer, why I was drawn to be a 🧜‍♀️ (after the tragic & heartbreaking deaths of both of my parents in a 4 month time period), my five books I’ve published & my passion for sharing about ocean conservation!

This is the intro they wrote about me which is truly an honor and warms my heart:

“Known as the “Kauai Mermaid,” Tara Coyote is a radiant presence whose life embodies the healing spirit of the Garden Isle. A cancer survivor, author, equine facilitator, and ocean lover, Tara has inspired countless people through her story of resilience, transformation, and deep connection to nature. Whether she’s swimming in the turquoise waters off Kauai’s shores or guiding others through emotional healing, Tara brings a sense of magic and mindfulness to everything she does. In this Q&A, we dive into her journey, passions, and what it truly means to live a life of grace, courage, and aloha.”

To be very honest, part of me feels like hiding underneath a rock, but at the same time, I’m incredibly honored that my story can share & inspire others!

This is such a BRILLIANT AFFIRMATION that if you follow your heart, beautiful things unfold. To many, putting on a mermaid tail, swimming with whales, sharks & other gorgeous ocean creatures & speaking up about why we NEED a healthy ocean for the survival of ALL BEINGS may seem strange, but for me it’s been a way to heal my heart, follow my joy & I’m incredibly grateful for it!
